     The Albany Police Athletic League's work within the community began in 1988, with the simple goal of creating a community bond between the youth and law enforcement of Albany. Since 1988, we have cultivated strong and resilient relationships between the law enforcement community and the youngest generations of Albany. Today, the Albany Police Athletic League brings together cops and kids through a variety of after-school activities, summer camps, clubs, and sports programs. Through these partnerships, we hope to develop strong leaders who think critically, work hard, and act compassionately.

  The Family School and Family School West offer daily Extended Day programs that run from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students may be collected any time prior to 6:00 p.m. For Toddlers, Extended Day is an extension of the day, with additional Art, Music and Movement, special projects and outdoor play. Our Preprimary students East and West enjoy a Special each day. Depending on location, these Specials may include Art and Art History, Science, Gardening, Baking, Cultural Arts, Soccer and Chess. All Specials are completed by 5:00 p.m. for those who wish to collect their children earlier. Along with improved gross motor and practical life skills, awesome science experiments, the development of strategic thinking, enhanced creativity and a developed appreciation for artistic expression, Extended Day is also an opportunity for time with friends, and more individualized attention where needed or desired academically. Children may join us full time for Extended Day or sign up for one or more classes for the year. *Depending on availability, children not currently in attendance at TFS or FSW may join our Extended Day program.
